“Poverty 101-Breaking Down Barriers of Poverty” is designed to help participants realize that poverty for some impacts all. This training teaches strategies to help people address the emotional, psychological, physical and practical needs of those experiencing poverty. Activities are designed to assist participants in identifying strengths, skills, and talents that they possess; to learn that those experiencing poverty are not deficient; and that possibilities exist for moving out of poverty. Participants will learn to share skills and strengths to support each other, build a network of people who are not experiencing poverty, and connect to resources and opportunities, leading to a unified community.
