Challenging behavior doesn't happen in isolation - it is often a child's way of communicating an unmet need or a skill they have not yet learned. In this interactive two-hour training, participants will explore the many factors that influence children's behavior and discover practical, relationship-based strategies for preventing problems before they begin. Through real-life scenarios, reflection, and discussion, participants will learn how classroom environment, schedules, expectations, engagement, and teacher interactions all contribute to children's success. The session also provides effective techniques for responding to challenging behavior calmly, supporting children's self-regulation, addressing behaviors such as biting, and meeting the needs of children with differing developmental, communication, sensory, or behavioral needs. Participants will leave with practical strategies they can immediately implement to create calmer classrooms where every child has the opportunity to succeed.
